Litigation figures back on the rise

Statistics for judicial and court activity in England and Wales for 2011 have recently been published by the Ministry of Justice (MoJ). The figures show overall the volume of litigation dealt with by the High Court in London has increased slightly, rising 7%.

This is in contrast to the surprising fall in litigation seen in 2010 (graph 1). This will be of interest to insurers as it may perhaps signify a new wave of claims as the difficult economic conditions continue.
