Clyde & Co’s Corporate Insurance Group announced today their expansion into the life insurance market with the appointment of their ninth partner – Andy Tromans – as well as a number of associates. These hires make the team the largest specialist insurance group in the City.
Andy Tromans has arrived from Clifford Chance where he was in their Financial Institutions Group. In addition, Ravi Masaon, a Senior Associate from Linklaters, as well as Danielle Cattermoul, an Associate from Clifford Chance, have also joined the team.
"Andy's arrival is a significant step in the growth of our Group" commented Andrew Holderness, head of the Corporate Insurance Group. “Last year we added specialist insurance finance and public company experience to our team, and our new recruits mean that we are now able to offer real expertise in the life insurance market, traditionally a market reserved only for the largest firms.
“We now have all bases covered to assist our clients and have a unique proposition for the market – far ahead of that of our competitors. We have seen our workload more than double over the last five years and that is down to the breadth of our expertise in the underwriting (both at Lloyd's and the companies market), broking, run-off and support parts of the insurance industry, and our ability to provide a complete service in each of them."
Andy Tromans added: "The team at Clyde & Co have been at the cutting edge in terms of deals done and the firm is a natural home for an insurance specialist. I am looking forward in helping to drive the business forward by adding new areas of expertise and continuing to look for innovative solutions to clients needs."
The Legal 500 commented that Clyde & Co’s Corporate Insurance Group "has the leading transactional insurance practice among the traditional EC3 insurance firms."
