Clyde & Co Paris expands practice with lateral partner hire

Clyde & Co LLP has announced the hire of Pierre Bechmann, formerly a partner at Clifford Chance, Paris.

Pierre has almost 30 years of international experience advising on multi-jurisdictional complex cross border matters and multinational litigation which includes acting for Volvo on the Mont Blanc Tunnel fire.  He is a well known international environmental lawyer although his practice also involves non-contentious regulatory and health and safety work.  In addition, Pierre undertakes a substantial amount of litigation work, particularly industrial risk and product liability, both for the insurance sector and beyond.

Pierre intends to focus on the following industry sectors: insurance; reinsurance; chemical; automotive, transport, nuclear, energy and pharmaceutical.

Clyde & Co partner, Gildas Rostain commented: "We are delighted Pierre has decided to join Clyde & Co.  He is a first-rate lawyer whose areas of work will complement the existing framework of the Paris office whilst bringing an extra dimension by enabling us to extend our wide range of services to industry clients and insurers.  Pierre is also very well known and highly regarded in the Paris Bar."

Pierre added, "I am honoured and delighted to join Clyde & Co.  Having had the privilege of working with Clyde & Co partners over the years I am fully aware of the very high standards of the firm and I am looking forward to contributing to its continued development."
