St. Petersburg - Associate office
Clyde & Co is one of the few international law firms with an associate office in St Petersburg. We’ve been here for 15 years, working with our associates Musin & Partners to provide an on-the-ground, integrated service to businesses in Russia and Central Asia.
The office is headed by Professor Valery Musin, who apart from being a leading practitioner is also Professor of Commercial Law at St Petersburg University. St Petersburg is in a key position vis-à-vis natural resources. With Clyde & Co's sector focus on energy, international trade, shipping, aviation, and insurance St. Petersburg is a vital location. We handle both contentious and non-contentious work for CIS-based clients as well as international businesses entering the region. Major disputes have taken us to the Russian Arbitrage Court and the LCIA. Alongside our sector specialisms, we also undertake general corporate work, from M&A and restructuring to joint ventures and corporate finance.
Clients are predominantly Russian, although we also act for many international companies referred to us from our global network. We act for clients across the sector spectrum, from insurance multinationals and oil majors to shipowners and property developers.
Our work in the region is co-ordinated from Clyde & Co's Russia and Central Asia group in London, whose members frequently work in the Russian offices. We work closely with the Moscow office and have developed invaluable links with government organisations and other local law firms in St Petersburg.
