Barry is a senior master mariner/marine Investigator. Barry served 16 years at sea on different types of vessels, ending with 3 years command experience on general cargo ships and bulk carriers.
He joined Clyde & Co in 1980 and whilst not admitted as a solicitor, he became a senior associate of the firm in 1990.
Barry has been appointed commissioner of a trust port in the UK for the last 3 years and he is actively involved in the management of the port and the updating and implementation of the port’s safety management system/marine safety code.
He is also a qualified ECDIS operator and has had extensive type approved training for a well known electronic chart system currently used on a large number of commercial vessels.
