Ben heads up our projects & construction group in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and is based in Riyadh, working out the offices of Al-Bosaily Law, our associated firm in the Kingdom.
Ben has twelve years' experience in both transactional and disputes related matters and has acted for governments, developers, contractors and consultants involved in construction across the infrastructure, oil and gas, and real estate sectors. Ben has acted in respect of projects located in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Iraq, Bahrain, Oman, Jordan, Libya, Djibouti, the Russian Federation and Australia.
Ben’s expertise covers the entire project life cycle from start to finish – including business establishment, project structuring, tender processes, contract negotiation and advice, project delivery, claims management and disputes.
In particular, he has detailed expertise of build only, D&C, DBM, EPC and PPP/PFI contracts across a range of standard forms (including FIDIC and AS), as well as joint venture and consortium agreements, novation agreements, supplementary agreements and settlement agreements. Ben has acted in all types of construction-related claims, including variations, delay and associated cost claims, defects, and bond demands. Such claims have lead to personal experience in conducting court trials, arbitral hearings, mediations and other alternative dispute resolution mechanisms.
Ben holds Bachelor of Law (Honours) and Bachelor of Science degrees, a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and hopes to one day to find time to finish off his Master of Construction Law degree.
