Charles is a solicitor in the Marine Cargo and Casualty Department (Marine & International Trade Group). He joined Clyde & Co LLP in 2005. Before joining Clyde & Co LLP, he worked in the Insurance Group of another leading law firm in London.
Charles specialises in marine insurance, shipping and transport litigation and dispute resolution, principally on behalf of marine cargo insurers. Charles handles litigation before the Commercial and Admiralty Courts in London and before London arbitration tribunals.
Charles deals with cases arising out of vessel casualties (including engine breakdown, grounding and total loss sinking) and high value/complex cargo damage claims. Charles also handles a large volume of medium size cargo recovery claims (including seawater damage, defrost damage, breakage and contamination) for leading marine insurers, particularly in the Japanese, Korean, Indian and French markets.
