Chris has been with Clyde & Co since 1979 and is a partner in the firm specialising in claims and dispute resolution arising from carriage of goods by land, sea and air; salvage, collision and general average claims; in insurance advice/litigation; charterparty disputes; and in disputes arising from international trade. He also acts in cases arising from ship construction/conversion disputes and aircraft maintenance disputes and has acted for clients in non-contentious matters relating to international trade contracts and shipping contracts.
He is currently based in Clyde & Co’s Dubai office, where he has been working for 10 years. Chris also spent 3 years in the firm’s Hong Kong office in the mid-1980’s.
Chris has written many published articles, is a regular speaker on his areas of practice at conferences and seminars both locally and internationally. He has been described by Chambers Global 2006 as “the secret of Clyde's success” and in Legal 500 as “without a doubt the best marine lawyer in the UAE market”, with Clyde & Co identified as the leading firm in the Middle East for maritime & shipping.
