Chris has been with Clyde & Co since 1979 and is a partner in the firm specialising in claims and dispute resolution arising from carriage of goods by land, sea and air; salvage, collision and general average claims; in insurance advice/litigation; charterparty disputes; in disputes arising from international trade and in commercial litigation and arbitration. He also acts in cases arising from ship construction/conversion disputes and aircraft maintenance disputes and has acted for clients in non-contentious matters relating to international trade contracts and shipping contracts.
He is currently based in Clyde & Co’s Dubai office, where he has been working for 13 years. Chris also spent 3 years in the firm’s Hong Kong office in the mid-1980’s and 14 years in the London office.
Chris has written many published articles, is a regular speaker on his areas of practice at conferences and seminars both locally and internationally. He has been described by Chambers Global as “the secret of Clyde's success” and in Legal 500 as “without a doubt the best marine lawyer in the UAE market”. Clyde & Co has been identified as the leading firm in the Middle East for maritime, shipping and insurance, all of which are Chris' practice areas.
