John Goodman is a partner in the casualty and healthcare team and joined the firm as a trainee in 1990. He specialises in general insurance work, with particular expertise in personal injury, employers' liability, public liability, stress-related claims and psychiatric injuries. He also deals with inquests, defamation, health and safety prosecutions and judicial review cases on behalf of local authorities.
John also has a particular interest in the Animals Act and regularly deals with equestrian and other animal claims. He has assisted one client in a response to the Government's consultation on amending the strict liability provisions under the Act.
He is acknowledged as a leading individual in Chambers & Partners, 2010 and in the Legal 500, 2009.
John is a regular presenter on a variety of topics at seminars and client events. Recent talks include the Ogden tables, employers's liability regulations, and Government proposals for reforming the claims process.
