John joined Clyde & Co in 1982 and became a partner in 1986. John spent 5 years in Singapore setting up the firm office there and is closely involved in the firm's Asian practice. He is actively involved in Eastern European and Central Asian business and works closely with the firm's offices in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Belgrade. John is and has been a member of the firm's management board since 1999.
His primary focus is on international arbitration and litigation disputes arising in commodity trades and commercial disputes. He also advises on international law issues and is significantly involved in issues relating to the former Republic of Yugoslavia.
He has handled disputes before many international arbitral bodies, trade associations and foreign tribunals including Russian arbitration bodies. He has also had significant insurance and shipping experience.
John is recommended in various editions of The Legal 500 Commodities, for Commercial Litigation, Public International Law and arbitration.
