Jonathan is a consultant at Clyde & Co, having joined the firm in 1991 and qualified in 1993. He went on to become a partner at the firm from May 2000 to July 2007.
As a member of the firm's dispute resolution group, he advises a broad spectrum of clients in relation to commercial disputes with a particular emphasis on multi-jurisdictional proceedings. His clients include those in the gas/energy commodity sectors, international trade unions and multi-national manufacturers.
Jonathan has advised clients in relation to high profile multi-jurisdictional matters including major marine casualties involving substantive and conservatory proceedings inter alia in India, Norway, Malta, Cyprus, Greece, South Africa, Canada and the USA as well as high profile commercial disputes involving international commodity entities and major international players within the manufacturing and energy industries.
He has also advised clients in relation to the impact inter alia of the draft Convention on Applicable Law for Non-Contractual Obligations, proposed changes to the Third Parties Rights against Insurers Act (1930) and the potential liability of Classification Societies pursuant to EC Directives.
Jonathan has also specialised in corporate immigration law for 14 years and is a consultant to Clyde & Co's corporate immigration unit. He advises companies on the full range of inward bound immigration issues and manages global outward bound processes.
