Julie practices in the areas of professional liability and insurance litigation. Her practice principally focuses on the representation of insurers in connection with claims made under technology, professional liability, employment practices liability and directors and officers liability insurance policies. She represents insurers in all aspects of insurance coverage, including the assessment of coverage, negotiation of coverage disputes, mediation of underlying actions, litigation of declaratory judgment actions and bad faith litigation.
In 2006, she was seconded to a leading Lloyd's of London syndicate for a period of three months. In that role, she worked directly with the syndicate's professional indemnity, marine and property/casualty teams on claims issues involving insurance and reinsurance policies and programs in North America. She also worked with the syndicate's underwriters to develop policy wordings and provided compliance and regulatory advice with regard to North American claims.
Julie is an active member of numerous professional organisations, including the American Bar Association, the Bar Association of San Francisco and the Professional Liability Underwriting Society. She is a 2000 graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, Boalt Hall School of Law, J.D. where she was an associate editor of the Asian Law Journal and a member of the Ecology Law Quarterly, and a cum laude graduate of the University of Southern California, B.S., 1997.
