Margaret joined the firm in 1989, and has been a partner since 1998.
She specialises in insurance related work, advising mainly marine and energy insurance underwriters on a wide variety of issues, in particular coverage disputes and pursuit of subrogated recoveries.
In relation to marine policies, she has particular experience of coverage disputes in relation to hull, builders' risk loss of hire and war risks insurance, as well as jurisdiction disputes and investigation of fraud by assured.
Margaret also has particular expertise in dealing with
un-seaworthiness issues, and has dealt with many yacht insurance cases. In relation to energy policies, she has worked on a diverse range of cases, from a subrogated recovery against the drawworks brake and control system manufacturers of a drill ship, to the defence of reinsurance claim in relation to a nitrogen plant.
