Matthew specialises in shipping, commodities, insurance and commercial litigation. He has extensive experience in handling complex litigation and arbitration cases in Hong Kong and internationally. He is an accredited mediator of the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre and the Hong Kong Law Society.
Matthew's experience covers a broad range of shipping matters including charterparty disputes, ship casualties, bunker claims and disputes involving carriage of goods by air, sea and road.
On the insurance side, Matthew advises clients on various types of insurance products, including, among others, marine insurance and D&O insurance.
Matthew also handles criminal litigation. He is in the Fiat List of the Department of Justice and handles prosecution as an advocate. He worked as a public prosecutor for the Department of Justice in 2009.
Matthew speaks English, Cantonese and Mandarin and is admitted to practise in Hong Kong and England and Wales.
