Recent experience

  • Advising a governmental entity in relation to a major international health insurance scheme.  
  • Generally advising a variety of multinational companies in relation to the QFC rules and regulations, as well as issues relating to the laws of the State of Qatar. 
  • Advising one of Germany's largest architecture and engineering firms in relation to a contentious matter involving a major local company 
  • Advising a European embassy in relation to its standard employment contract and various issues relating to the Qatar labour law. 
  • Advising one of the world's largest investment firms in relation to its acquisition of a liquidated firm and establishing a branch office in the QFC. 
  • Advising Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Company (Europe) Ltd in relation to its successful application for authorization to conduct regulated activities in and from the QFC, including providing specific advice with regard to the regulatory information required by the Qatar Financial Centre Regulatory Authority.  
  • Advised the Oman Ministry of Finance regarding the partial privatization of Omantel, the national telecommunications service in Oman. The privatization at that time was the largest of its kind ever in Oman.  
  • Advising numerous multinational companies in relation to the UK Bribery Act and applicable anti-bribery legislation in the Qatar
  • Advising several international engineering firms in relation to occupational health, safety, and environmental legislation and related regulatory requirements
  • Assisting several QFC entities in respect of regulatory enforcement actions
  • Advising various local and foreign companies in relation to immigration and employment matters
