Michael is the senior partner of Clyde & Co, a position to which he was elected at the age of 39, in 1984.
He has acted for underwriters and insurers worldwide on most of the major international insurance problems of recent years.
Michael was chairman of the Solicitors Indemnity Mutual Insurance Association from 1986 until 2007. He has been chairman of the British Maritime Law Association since 1996.
He was voted senior partner of the Year at the Legal Business Awards, 2004. In Chambers 2007 he is recorded as 'a true leader of the insurance industry in London, Europe and Asia'.
