  • Acting on behalf of private military contractors in commercial fraud disputes and related investigations.
  • Advising an international accounting firm in internal investigations into the dealings of a former managing partner in the Middle East and North Africa.
  • Advising international military logistics and private security companies on commercial disputes arising in hostile environments.
  • Representing a fuels supplier in Dubai International Arbitration Centre proceedings arising under fuels transportation agreements.
  • Representing the former managing partner of the Kuwaiti office of a competing international law firm in London Court of International Arbitration proceedings arising under partnership and joint venture agreements entered into with the firm.
  • Advising a leading international insurance company on disputes arising out of the post completion adjustment on the purchase price of a Lebanese insurance company. 
  • Advising a leading Middle East insurance company on disputes before the Dubai Courts arising out of the issuance of advance payment guarantees and performance bonds.
  • Advising a Bahraini bank on litigation before the Dubai Courts in respect of disputes arising out of the sale and purchase of immovable property through one of the bank's investment funds.
  • Advising a Qatari bank on an inter-banking dispute before the Abu Dhabi Courts arising in relation to back-to-back bank guarantees and other security for payment.
  • Advising international luxury hotel and resort management companies on disputes arising out of hotel management (and related) agreements. 
  • Representing a property developer in disputes arising out of the off-plan sale and purchase of commercial and residential property in Dubai (featured in Westlaw Gulf Update No. 9; and The Brief, May 2012 edition).
  • Acting as a barrister and solicitor for Canadian pharmaceutical manufacturing company Laboratoire Riva Inc.: successfully defended against a C$3.9 billion class action lawsuit in Québec (reported amongst the Big Deals in LEXPERT®, September 2008 edition; and in les affaires.com). 
  • Appearing before the Supreme Court of Canada in a commercial dispute in respect of rights in the dissolution and liquidation of a corporation in Fédération des producteurs acéricoles du Québec v. Regroupement pour la commercialisation des produits de l’érable inc., [2006] 2 S.C.R. 591, 2006 SCC 50.
  • Acting as one of the barristers and solicitors representing a trust services provider in the highly mediatised Norbourg financial scandal.
  • Representing Canadian financial institutions in the defence of a number of proposed class actions alleging consumer fraud and various breaches of consumer protection legislation.
