Nick has acted for shipowners and charterers for nearly 30 years and for the last 15 years has increasingly represented shipbuilders. He is head of our shipbuilding shiprepair team.
He has particularly strong South Korean clients. On the shipowners/operators' side his main Korean clients include STX Pan Ocean, Hanjin and Dooyang and he has acted for most of the major Korean Shipowners/operator companies. On the shipbuilding side his major Korean clients are leading builders Samsung Heavy Industry and Hyundai Mipo Dockyard.
He has in depth experience of arbitration, court and arrest/attachment proceedings both in England and abroad he has successfully handled innumerable Arbitration proceedings as well as court proceedings that have gone to the Court of Appeal and the House of Lords.
Nick has a wide experience of mediation and takes a practical and pragmatic approach to negotiations and settlement. Nick sees his major clients these days as heavily focussed on seeking commercial solutions and maintaining commercial relationships rather than attempting to win at all costs.
