Paul is a partner in the insurance/reinsurance department. He advises on both contentious and non-contentious matters. Paul is the author of "Time Bar in Reinsurance" and has spoken extensively at conferences on insurance and reinsurance issues. One of his specialisms is advising upon a wide range of issues arising in respect of business in run-off including exit solutions.
He has advised on numerous complex insurance and reinsurance actions and arbitrations, many of which have an international dimension. Paul is experienced in representing clients at mediations and has assisted in resolving several disputes through mediation.
Paul has been appointed as a scheme adjudicator and as an arbitrator in reinsurance disputes.
He handled the first insurance business transfer under the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 and has subsequently handled a number of other transfers and is recognised for his experience in this field. Paul also advises insurers/reinsurers and brokers on regulatory issues.
