Pii Ketvel

Special adviser, London

Pii is a special adviser to the firm.  He was a partner from May 2000 to February 2008 specialising in all types of international finance and cross border corporate mergers and acquisitions, as well as multijurisdictional insolvencies and restructurings. Pii has particular experience of working in the emerging markets. His clients were typically major international banks and financial institutions, traders, insurers and corporations.

He has now joined, as executive director, the board of one the firm’s international clients, and therefore is not providing advice to the firm’s clients.  However, he has remained with the firm as a special adviser to the firm.  In this role he also continues his work in the International Bar Association, where he is co-chairing the European Forum.

Pii received his law degree from the University of Helsinki in 1994 and LL.M. from the London School of Economics in 1995.  He was the first Finnish qualified partner in a city law firm in London.  Pii’s pro bono commitments include the Advisory Board of the Lord Slynn of Hadley European Law Foundation and trusteeship of the Anglo-Finnish European Law Trust.

Pii is fluent in English, Finnish, Swedish and Italian.
