Akis obtained his B.Sc. in Business Administration from New York University’s Stern School of Business in 1994 and his LLB (Hons) from City University, London in 2000. He joined Clyde & Co in 2001 following his call to the Bar of England & Wales. He qualified as a solicitor in England & Wales in 2003 and registered with the Athens (Greece) Bar Association in 2004.
Akis specialises in the contentious and non-contentious legal aspects of shipping and international trade. He also advises and litigates on general commercial disputes and international transactional work. He has dealt with a wide range of cases frequently of a complex, cross-border or multi-party nature.
Akis has written a summary of product liability law in Greece and has been instructed on a number of cases involving the product liability framework under Greek law representing major insurance companies, manufacturers and local importers.
Before joining Clyde & Co, Akis worked in the financial services sector in Athens, Greece. He is fluent in English and Greek and has knowledge of German.
