Vera has always worked in private practice, in Portugal, the United Kingdom and now in the Middle East, hence holding deep experience in both civil and common law jurisdictions.
She holds a Masters advanced in Air and Space Law and also two Post-Graduate degrees on both Corporate Business Law and Air Law.
Vera was part of a High Level Group providing legal and technical input to the European Commission in order to prepare a new aviation legislative package as well as advised the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority in the implementation of the Cape Town Convention at national level.
She is experienced in negotiating and executing international aircraft and engine sales and financing and has led successful international transactions involving various aviation assets in several jurisdictions, including the Middle East Region, Russia, the US and off shore jurisdictions.
She is also a member of a number of aviation associations, including the International Bar Association – Aviation Committee, the European Aviation Law Association, alumni of the International Institute of Air and Space Law and member of the AeroClub de Portugal.
Vera is also an UL private pilot and speaks Portuguese, English, Spanish and French.
