Victor's principal practice area is non-marine liability, often engineering and construction based acting for both insurers and reinsurers. This includes arbitration, mediation and litigation in the Commercial Court as well as the Technology and Construction Court. Victor has dealt with many significant APH matters including several test cases on policy coverage of asbestos related disease.
He is well known in the field of railways having acted for reinsurers following the Ladbroke Grove disaster and for insurers following the Hatfield derailment. Victor continues to act for train operating companies and their insurers in relation to disputes on the railways both in the UK and internationally such as in respect of the major Czech train crash in 2008. He has a wide experience of dealing with Health and Safety, and Environmental prosecutions both on the railways and for major construction companies.
Reinsurance disputes also form a significant part of his practice including issues relating to the allocation and aggregation of APH losses and inwards facultative and stop loss reinsurance.
Much of his work has an international element including cases in the US, Middle East, Latin America, Continental and Eastern Europe/CIS including D&O, F.I., Property, Casualty and Engineering claims.
Victor lectures widely to both industry and fellow professionals as well as on the Masters of International Law degree course at the University of Barcelona.
Victor has also recently been quoted in the 2008/09 edition of Legal 500 as being a "market leader for complex litigation"
