Wayne Jones is a partner based in Clyde & Co’s Dubai office, specialising in commercial litigation and re/insurance.
Wayne has been in the UAE since 2001, and has spent the last five years in Abu Dhabi where he assisted with the set-up of Clyde & Co's Abu Dhabi office. He is a recognised specialist in the GCC region for insurance and reinsurance work, and has a broad regional practice advising local and foreign insurance interests on a wide range of contentious and non-contentious matters.
In recent years Wayne has been increasingly involved in a wide range of regulatory work, particularly advising in relation to the Dubai International Financial Centre and the Qatar Financial Centre. He has also been heavily involved in advising GCC governments on compulsory health insurance arrangements, and led the regulatory team advising the Dubai Health Authority on its health funding proposals.
Wayne advises on a broad range of commercial disputes in the Middle East, and has undertaken several successful policy defences and subrogated recoveries for insurer clients. He is a frequent speaker at regional insurance market events and a regular contributor to industry publications.
