Wayne is a partner based in Clyde & Co’s Abu Dhabi office, specialising in commercial litigation and reinsurance. He spent four years at Clyde & Co in the UK before joining the Dubai office in 2001, and has been practicing in the Middle East since. Wayne relocated to Abu Dhabi in 2004. He is qualified in England and South Africa.
He advises on a broad range of commercial disputes in the UAE and other jurisdictions, including arbitration and other alternative dispute resolution procedures, oil trading, local agency contracts, offshore energy projects, construction, financial services, shipping and general transportation, and other commercial fields.
Wayne is a recognised specialist in the GCC region for insurance and reinsurance work, and has extensive knowledge of the London and European markets. He has a broad regional practice advising local and foreign insurance interests on a wide range of matters, including an increasing amount of GCC regulatory work, including in the DIFC and QFC.
He is a frequent speaker at regional insurance market events and a regular contributor to industry publications. Wayne is described as a “fine reinsurance lawyer” by Legal 500.
