William Newmark practices in the areas of insurance coverage and civil litigation. He represents domestic and international insurers in evaluating claims made under technology, media, cyber liability and professional services errors and omissions insurance policies.
William's experience includes the evaluation and management of consumer class action litigation, intellectual property disputes, professional liability, and general commercial litigation matters. William's practice focuses on representing insurers in connection with claims made against technology and media companies, including right of publicity, defamation, trademark, trade secret, and copyright infringement claims, as well as data security breaches and cyber attacks. He also has experience in aviation, patent, employment and general business litigation matters.
William is an active member of the Bar Association of San Francisco and the Professional Liability Underwriting Society. He is a 2007 graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law, where he was an Associate Editor for the Berkeley Journal of International Law and an Associate Articles Editor for the Berkeley Technology Law Journal, and a summa cum laude graduate of the University of California, San Diego, B.A. in History, 2003.
