We are pleased to offer trainee secretaries the chance to develop their newly-acquired skills in a successful, international law firm.
Here is the programme overview:
- A one-year programme commencing with a two-week module-based induction that will include customer care, assertiveness, IT training, document production, executive PA training, and general office procedures
- After induction, trainees will be placed in one or more of the following practice areas: corporate and conveyancing, insurance/reinsurance, and a variety of contentious and non-contentious areas
- Trainees will be provided with constant feedback and guidance with regular appraisals
- Each trainee will be assigned a mentor to support them and offer guidance throughout their contract
We require applicants to possess the following key skills:
- Accurate audio and copy-typing, minimum 40 wpm
- MS Office skills: Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- ILEX secretarial qualification or equivalent
- Minimum 5 GCSEs (A-C), including English and Maths
- Excellent spelling and grammar
The firm runs assessment days in April/May each year. Applicants are invited to apply to attend an assessment day and must submit a covering letter, CV and application. Chosen candidates will attend as part of a group. The day includes completing a personality profile, problem-solving, spelling and grammar tests, as well as an IT skills assessment. Any outstanding questions can also be answered.
Those who pass the assessment will be interviewed by a member of the HR team, and successful interviewees will be offered a one-year fixed term contract to commence September of each year. Clyde & Co is an equal opportunities employer.
