Impact of COVID-19 on infrastructure projects in Africa

The social and economic impact of the pandemic across Africa has been significant. As the region recovers, there is an opportunity to accelerate infrastructure investment and cause an uptick in construction projects to support economic recovery.

From a legal perspective, there are three areas where there will be significant ongoing challenges as we head into 2021; this includes force majeure; change in law provisions; and localisation of supply chains.

In this video, Peter Kasanda, Managing Partner of Clyde & Co's Tanzania office, considers these areas and how parties and best understand, and leverage, the risks and rewards when operating in this environment.
