On 5 October 2020, Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, unveiled an almost USD 14 billion infrastructure investment plan.

This plan includes a package of 39 infrastructure projects that will be largely privately financed with a focus on the communications, energy and water sectors. Whilst the pandemic has been a devastating blow for the Mexican construction sector, this intends to attract foreign investment and rehabilitate the economy.

In this video, Enrique Garza and Enrique Garza Jr, based in Mexico City, discuss the fiscal, social and labour challenges of doing business in Mexico. For companies seeking to invest in Mexico, we provide a headline commentary on some of the key considerations when entering this market.

This video forms part of our Projects & Construction Year in Review 2020 commentary.
