LA City Attorney Gets $1.2M Penalty, Injunction Against Vape Company

In 2018 the State of California filed against vape pen manufacturer Kandypens, Inc, seeking injunctive relief and civil penalties for violations of the Unfair Competition Law, the Stop Tobacco Access to Kids Enforcement Act, and the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986. The court’s initial ruling restricted Kandypens from engaging in certain conduct and required producing a compliance report every 90 days documenting compliance with the preliminary injunction’s terms.

That injunction has now been extended for four years. In addition, monetary penalties were awarded against the company totaling $1.2 million.
