Full Profile

Theresa qualified as an English solicitor in 2015 and is part of the English law team in Clyde & Co's Hamburg office, after having joined from another well-known international shipping law firm in 2019. She is fluent in both German and English and is happy to accept instructions in either language.

Theresa has a breadth of experience in both contentious and non-contentious matters in the areas of commercial shipping, insurance and energy. On the contentious site she frequently acts for shipowners, charterers, ship-managers, brokers and P&I clubs in both London arbitrations and English High Court proceedings. She advises clients in relation to charterparty issues under both time and voyage charters, shipbuilding disputes, cargo claims, insurance disputes and compliance issues.

On the non-contentious side Theresa has extensively been involved in the drafting of charterparties, ship-management agreements, Sale & Purchase contracts and various other agreements.

Theresa is further experienced in handling all aspects of a ship arrest in jurisdictions worldwide. In this context she has on numerous occasions represented financing banks in circumstances where they had to take enforcement actions in the form of arrest proceedings against a borrower.
