Nicholas Stasos

Nicholas is an Associate in the Sydney office within the Projects & Construction team. Nicholas has experience and advises on all areas of back-end dispute resolution, primarily for contractors in both a domestic and international context. This includes acting in litigation, arbitration, expert determination and security of payment disputes.

Prior to joining Clyde & Co in April 2022, Nicholas worked in a boutique law firm with a focus on all aspects of construction and infrastructure law, particularly litigation and security of payment,

Experience

• Acting for a joint venture in respect of the delivery of a multibillion-dollar PPP infrastructure project in Sydney, including providing advice on various legal issues and assisting with downstream contracts.
• Acting for the main contractor in an arbitration in respect of the construction of a large scale solar farm.
• Acting for the main contractor in an expert determination under a GC21 Contract against the New South Wales Department of Education concerning the redevelopment of three schools.
• Acting for contractors and subcontractors in adjudications under the Building and Construction Industry Security of Payment Act 1999 (NSW) (and equivalent legislation in Victoria and Queensland).
• Advising contractors in relation to large scale infrastructure projects, particularly rail, commercial and residential in New South Wales and Victoria.
• Acting for and advising clients in relation to matters under the Home Building Act 1989 (NSW).
