Global law firm Clyde & Co celebrates the fifth year of its Art Awards with a retrospective look at the programme, its artists and their art.
The Art Awards Retrospective celebrates with over twenty 20 new works from early-career artists who have been part of the programme since its inauguration. Diverse in content and materials, the exhibition spans painting, printmaking, sculpture, photography and installation, providing a platform for selected artists in London’s landmark Oxo Tower Wharf gallery.
Launched in Clyde & Co’s London office, the programme facilitates the transition from art school to professional artist, supporting graduates in their development and presenting their work to new audiences including potential collectors.
As part of the initiative, every year 40 selected artists are awarded a prize to exhibit their work in the Clyde & Co London offices, receive professional mentoring, free legal advice and attend workshops in creative entrepreneurship. At the end of the year, the GBP 5000 Clyde & Co Art Prize is presented to one of the artists from the London prize, in addition to the GBP 3000 National Blank Canvas Award and a GBP 2000 Staff Vote Prize in. All works are subsequently made available through an online auction, with all proceeds going to the artist.
The innovative programme has already been rolled out to Clyde & Co offices across the globe including Dubai, Perth, Melbourne, San Francisco & Newport Beach and Sydney.
