We have vast experience of the complex legal, commercial and operational risks within the mining, industrials & power sectors, and of the issues faced by insurers in these markets.
Our multi-jurisdictional team provides advice on a wide range of mining, industrial and power risks. A particular focus of our practice is emerging markets, and we often manage disputes in challenging environments within the parameters of unpredictable regimes. We also provide non-contentious advice, having considerable experience of wording and placement structures on facultative and global accounts, particularly in relation to business interruption wordings.
We advise on claims arising out of, for example, pit wall failure; mechanical and electrical breakdown; power production disruption; corrosion; explosions; flood loss; pot line freeze; container and reclaimer failures; fire, process failure; water chemistry – the list is vast.
We can handle any technical issue and regularly advise in relation to machinery breakdown; business interruption/DSU; reinsurance; jurisdictional issues; liability exposures; subrogation; transport-related risks/goods in transit; environmental liability; regulation; employment issues; and LEG/DE (design exclusions).
We also draw upon the skills of our wider energy, property, product liability, professional indemnity, construction & engineering, infrastructure and commodities groups, providing a broad pool of expertise that covers the entire sector.
