Osama has an in-depth understanding of different cultures and the particular risk implications, through extensive international compliance experience in Europe, North America, Africa, and the Middle East.

Previous roles include being Head of Compliance for a major FTSE 100 multinational corporation, responsible for compliance with anti-bribery/corruption, modern slavery, data protection laws, and business continuity planning across the UK, MENA, the US, and China.

Osama holds a Masters of Science in Corporate Governance and Business Ethics from University of London. 

Experience

• Advised a state-owned enterprise based in Saudi Arabia on the creation and implementation of an effective management system to manage third-party corruption risks and served as an interim head of compliance.
• Advised a global trading business based in the UAE (with significant operations in KSA and the EU) on a review of its global financial crime program, the creation and implementation plan, and staffing for new policies and related compliance issues, and served as an interim head of compliance.
• Advised on the global implementation of anti-corruption policies and programs at a significant support services and construction company.
• Led investigation teams into allegations of financial crime (e.g., accounting fraud) for a FTSE 100 company.
• Undertook a “deep dive” review globally for a FTSE 100 company that included identifying and evaluating global compliance risks, organizing, coordinating, and structuring compliance-related controls (such as training programs, internal policies, procedures, and guidelines), and bringing together cross-functional teams in the business to support and monitor initiatives.
