Kenna Clarke is a dual-qualified solicitor in England & Wales and attorney-at-law in New York and New Jersey, specialising in regulatory and contentious matters. Based in London, Kenna works closely with both the US and UK Regulatory & Investigations teams.
Kenna routinely advises clients across a range of sectors on regulatory and trade matters, with a particular focus on sanctions and shipping legislation and regulation. Kenna has significant experience responding to government investigations and managing related discovery projects, which informs the regulatory compliance training she delivers to our clients. She also advises clients on shipping charges disputes, competition law, anti-bribery and corruption, and anti-money laundering regimes.
Kenna previously worked in the firm’s Singapore office and began her career as a litigator in the US. Her international background enables her to advise clients effectively on complex, multijurisdictional matters. Her experience includes High Court proceedings in London, arbitrations in London and Singapore, US federal and state court proceedings, and cross-border insolvency matters.

Recent Representative Matters
Frequently advises maritime industry client in relation to US shipping legislation, and regulations and rules promulgated by the Federal Maritime Commission, actively leading charges disputes.
Routinely advises clients in the maritime and financial sectors on sanctions compliance and due diligence. This includes assessing and revising sanctions policies and procedures.
Counsels ocean carriers on the Section 301 port fees and restrictions implemented by the US Trade Representative.
Advises energy sector clients in relation to export control regulations.
Worked as part of a team representing an overseas company and its US affiliates in Department of Justice antitrust investigations. The investigations were closed with no adverse action taken against the client.
Participated as an integral part of a team acting on behalf of a shipyard in multiple shipbuilding disputes before the LMAA.
