Represented Respondents and Claimants in both Scottish and English Employment Tribunals, with advocacy experience in the Employment Tribunal and the Sheriff Courts.

Experience
Successfully represented Claimant (with counsel instructed) at seven day hearing against an internationally-recognised oil & gas sector company in claims for whistleblowing detriments, unlawful deduction from wages, discrimination and unfair dismissal.
Acted for a private sector student accommodation client. Successfully had claims relating to disability discrimination and failure to consult prior to a TUPE transfer struck out at Preliminary Hearing.
Successfully defended construction sector Respondent in three day disability discrimination hearing.
Successfully established territorial jurisdiction in Preliminary Hearing at London Central Employment Tribunal on Claimant’s behalf, relying on Ravat v Halliburton Manufacturing and Services Ltd.
Advised political party on collective redundancies. Drafted all settlement agreements including exits of senior employees
Acted for a Claimant employed in the educational sector in a claim for whistleblowing detriments. Advised her on all aspects of their claim and negotiated settlement agreement worth 12 months’ salary.
Acted for a Claimant employed in the financial sector, negotiated settlement agreement worth £30,000 more than their desired figure.
Advised employee in case where it was alleged they had disability under the Equality Act. Argued this on their behalf and facilitated their exit from employer via Settlement Agreement on favourable terms. The employee was initially offered 1 weeks’ notice pay, but ultimately secured agreement of 8 weeks’ pay plus another 8 weeks as compensation.
Advised a Respondent in successfully defending pre-litigation claims under s145B TULRCA 1992.
