Jared is the managing partner of Jared Kangwana & Co Advocates LLP in association with Clyde & Co and is based in the Nairobi office. He advises financial institutions, investors, and local and multinational corporations on domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions (M&A), divestitures, and restructurings.
Jared has advised on a number of large and complex transactions, working with clients operating in the aviation, education, energy, financial services, healthcare, insurance, retail and consumer, and technology sectors across multiple jurisdictions such as Kenya, Tanzania, Cote d’Ivoire, Democratic Republic of Congo, Djibouti, Ghana, Mozambique, Nigeria, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. His work also includes guiding businesses through geo-political and regulatory challenges, ensuring compliance and mitigating risk in diverse and evolving legal environments.
Jared is an English-trained Advocate and admitted as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya. This qual qualification enables him to navigate matters governed by English Law whilst providing local counsel within Kenya. He graduated with a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Bristol, United Kingdom, in 2010.
