Derk chiefly represents insurers. He advises and litigates in liability and insurance matters, mainly in the fields of professional liability, product liability, legal assistance insurance and related issues concerning coverage. He litigates not only in the civil courts but also before other bodies, such as disciplinary tribunals.
Derk successfully completed the Grotius Academie’s specialist course in Enterprise and Liability in 2016. He publishes in professional journals and is co-author of Sdu’s Commentary on Property Law, insurance law section.
Derk is registered with the Dutch Bar Association (NOVA) as specialising in the field of insurance law. According to the standards applied by the Netherlands Bar, this registration requires that he obtain ten educational points in that specific field in each calendar year.
