Daan handles liability and insurance law matters for insurers, with a focus on professional and directors' liability as well as life insurance. He also advises on and litigates (coverage) disputes under various other types of insurance policies.
Daan has a broad academic and legal interest. In addition to his work as a lawyer, he is a PhD candidate at Radboud University Nijmegen. His dissertation focuses on causation in insurance law. He also regularly publishes and teaches courses on liability law, insurance law, and the law of damages.
Daan is registered with the Dutch Bar Association (NOVA) as specializing in the field of Civil Procedural Law (Litigation), Transport and Commercial Law, Contract Law, and Insurance Law. According to the standards applied by the Netherlands Bar, this registration requires that he obtain ten educational points in that specific field each calendar year.
