Mark Braidwood is a partner in our Vancouver office with more than 22 years’ experience. He is a litigation lawyer with expertise in the areas of construction, commercial and insurance law.
Mark Braidwood is a litigation and dispute resolution partner based out of Clyde & Co’s Vancouver office. His practice is focused on construction, commercial and insurance law. Mark has conducted trials and appeals in all levels of British Columbia courts, and has acted as counsel in arbitrations, administrative hearings, WorkSafe investigations and mediations.
With a focus on dispute resolution, including claims for delays, Mark represents all parties involved in construction, including owners, developers, construction managers, contractors, sub-contractors, and design professionals in multiple jurisdictions. Mark provides legal counsel to a variety of professionals, including engineers, architects, financial advisors, accountants, insurance agents and private health practitioners.
Mark’s broad commercial practice includes shareholder disputes, director and officer liability, contract and business disputes, product liability, leases, sale of goods and other related issues, acting for both insurers and insureds, defending claims and prosecuting subrogated claims.
In his free time, Mark lectures and provides seminars to industry and legal professionals, including to the Independent Contractors Association, Buildex, the Canadian Bar Association – BC Construction Law Section, as well as in-house seminars for contractors and consultants. He is also an adjunct lecturer at UBC for the fourth-year engineering students. Mark enjoys acting as a Moot Court judge at the University of British Columbia, and he regularly provides pro bono legal services for Access Justice.
In 2015, Mark was appointed as a Director of Tennis BC, then Vice-President, and in 2019, he was appointed as President of the Board (Chair), and now sits as Past-President.
