Yannis is a partner in Clyde & Co's corporate insurance group and is based Paris. He advises insurers, reinsurers and intermediaries on all French and European legal or regulatory subjects, in particular the freedom to provide services, the freedom of establishment, as well as compliance issues for foreign companies wishing to start their activity or launch new products in France.
He also manages French or cross-border corporate projects: portfolio transfers, mergers, acquisitions and restructurings, in particular in the area of run-off.
Prior to joining Clyde & Co, Yannis was a partner in a major US law firm. He previously worked at the Economics & Finance Committee of the European insurance and reinsurance federation (Insurance Europe) in Brussels.
Yannis is a member of the legal commission and of the run-off working group of the Association of French Reinsurance Professionals (APREF). He chairs the International Association of Insurance Law‘s (AIDA) State Supervision Working Party and is a member of its Presidential Council. Yannis has also been appointed as an expert on the European Commission‘s Expert Group on a European Insurance Contract Law. He teaches insurance law at the Insurance Institute of Paris at Paris Dauphine University.
