Chris Cooper is a Senior Associate in Clyde & Co's Property & Liability team, based in Manchester. He joined the firm in 2014, bringing a strong commercial background from previous banking and retail head office roles. Chris specialises in third-party property liability and subrogated recovery claims, acting for insurers and corporate clients across a broad range of disputes.
Chris has particular expertise in claims arising from escape of water, fire and flood incidents. He advises on both high-volume liability portfolios and complex large-loss matters, helping clients achieve favourable outcomes through robust liability investigations, strategic litigation management and effective quantum control.
Working closely with Partner Peter Unsworth, Chris regularly advises on high-value, multi-party litigation, recovery actions and policy coverage issues. His experience includes acting on several multi-million-pound property damage disputes and technically complex claims involving multiple parties, experts and jurisdictions.
Chris is recognised for delivering commercial and pragmatic advice to support clients throughout the lifecycle of a claim. He plays a key role in achieving strong client outcomes, including claim discontinuances, successful recoveries and significant reductions in claimed damages, while supporting the wider Property & Liability team in servicing major insurer clients.
