Since qualifying as a solicitor in 2020, Poppy Hitchen has specialized in (re)insurance litigation and international arbitration, including in relation to the Bermuda Form (usually involving New York substantive law and English arbitration procedure), acting on behalf of insurers in the Lloyd’s market, United States, and Bermuda. Poppy has a particular focus on complex, high-value disputes and coverage claims arising from mass torts, product liability, and excess liability claims in the United States. 

Poppy also has a breadth of commercial court and litigation experience, often involving multi-party proceedings, in relation to property, liability, and other insurance-related disputes. This includes two occasions in the Supreme Court, in the High Court in relation to Business Interruption litigation, and for applications to court for anti-suit injunctions.

In addition to this, Poppy also regularly volunteers at the South Westminster Advice Clinic.
