Omkar is a shipping and marine insurance professional with combined operational and legal experience.
He is a qualified Master Mariner and holds an LL.M. in International Maritime Law. Before entering legal practice, he served at sea in senior officer roles, developing hands-on experience in vessel operations, navigation, cargo handling and marine casualty response.
Omkar has assisted on a broad range of shipping and marine insurance matters, including cargo claims, general average, salvage, collisions and groundings, and P&I disputes. His work includes claims analysis, review of technical and documentary evidence, liaising with surveyors and other experts, and drafting correspondence in both contentious and non-contentious matters.
His operational background enables him to take a practical, commercially focused approach to disputes where legal issues are closely intertwined with vessel operations.
