Juan Diego Niño-Vargas is an associate in the Litigation and International Arbitration team in the Paris office.
He represents clients in commercial and investment arbitration proceedings under the ICC, UNCITRAL, ICSID and SCC rules, involving a range of applicable laws and arbitral seats. He acts as counsel in disputes with connections to multiple jurisdictions, particularly in Europe, Latin America and Africa.
His practice further covers litigation before the French courts, with a particular focus on commercial and corporate disputes, as well as post-award litigation, including setting-aside and enforcement proceedings.
Juan Diego represents States, as well as both public and private entities, in disputes across a diverse range of industries, including oil and gas, mining, renewable energy, construction, telecommunications and transport, among others.
Juan Diego handles cases in English, French and Spanish. He is a Colombian and French national.
Prior to joining Clyde & Co, he developed robust experience in international arbitration and complex commercial litigation within leading French and international law firms in Paris.
Admitted to the Paris Bar, he holds a Master’s degree in International Law and a Master’s degree in International Business Law from Paris II Panthéon-Assas University, as well as a postgraduate degree in Business Law from the Institute of Business Law of Paris.
Juan Diego has authored publications on international arbitration and litigation, and has taught classes as part of specialised arbitration programm at Sciences Po Paris.
