Cristina specialises in shipping, aviation and road transport, with a strong focus on complex, cross-border matters and a dual practice covering both contentious and non-contentious work.
She advises on high-profile and technically complex matters, including aviation, maritime and energy casualty claims, as well as projects related to trading, insolvency and decarbonisation. Working closely with international teams, she regularly handles matters involving multiple jurisdictions and a strong regulatory and operational component.
Alongside her disputes work, Cristina leads a strong regulatory practice advising insurers, intermediaries and market operators. Her experience includes insurance distribution, regulatory compliance, cross-border models, insurtech and MGAs, as well as assessing the impact of new regulatory frameworks on the insurance sector. She also advises clients on insurance coverage and is particularly experienced in cargo recovery cases.
Cristina is actively involved in internal training, mentoring and knowledge-sharing initiatives, contributing to the development of junior lawyers and the strengthening of specialised teams. She regularly participates in industry forums and sector events, supporting the dissemination of technical knowledge both within and outside the firm.
She is a member of WISTA (Women’s International Shipping & Trading Association) and is currently undertaking the “The Next Generation of Women in Insurance” executive programme at INESE.
Cristina holds a Law degree from the University of Granada and an LL.M. from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. She is fluent in English and a member of the Madrid Bar Association. Prior to joining Clyde & Co, Cristina completed a Master’s degree in Shipping Business and Maritime Law at the Spanish Maritime Institute and ICADE Business School.
