Corporate Risk Radar 2025: Embedding resilience to power opportunity

2025年10月27日 全球

1. Introduction

The first edition centred on managing risk as it arises. In this second edition, we move the conversation forward — from simply recognising risks to exploring how organisations are embedding resilience at the heart of their operations.

Leveraging Winmark’s preparedness data alongside fresh insights from our partners, this report highlights how leading organisations are continuously evolving their strategies — turning uncertainty into a driver of innovation and a source of lasting competitive advantage.

It explores how businesses are redesigning supply chains, embedding cyber resilience into their culture, governing and deploying AI responsibly, managing workforce disruption, converting volatility into opportunity, and navigating increasing regulatory complexity with agility and foresight.

Strengthening resilience in today’s high-risk environment

Geopolitical upheaval

59% of board-level respondents identified geopolitics as a key concern, with impacts spanning conflict, tariffs, and trade barriers. As a result, businesses are:

  • Redesigning supply chains through friend-shoring and regionalisation
  • Pursuing vertical integration in energy and natural resources
  • Embedding flexibility into contracts and activating crisis playbooks

Managing regulatory risk

64% of leaders said rising regulatory obligations are materially affecting growth plans. To adapt, organisations are:

  • Building regulatory intelligence hubs
  • Running scenario planning and stress tests
  • Moving from reactive compliance to proactive engagement
  • Investing in tech to manage cross-border complexity

Economic volatility

Inflation, labour costs, and interest rates remain top concerns. Yet some businesses are using volatility as a strategic lever and:

  • Embedding inflation clauses and force majeure provisions
  • Leveraging hedging strategies in energy and commodities
  • Using scenario analysis to plan against multiple economic futures

The continuously changing cyber threat

67% of respondents cite cyber-attacks and data loss as high-impact risks. As a result, global organisations are implementing the following processes:

  • Codifying cybersecurity into risk frameworks
  • Running cyber simulations
  • Recruiting specialist cyber talent
  • Adopting an “assume breach” mindset

AI reshaping the workplace

Businesses are moving fast to adopt AI, but governance and awareness often lag. Key challenges:

  • Aligning policies with fast-moving agentic AI tools
  • Establishing data safeguards and access controls
  • Ensuring leadership sets clear use-cases for employees
  • Upskilling staff at scale to keep pace with new technologies

Conclusion

The corporate risk landscape is evolving rapidly, driven by the convergence of geopolitical tensions, technological shifts, and workforce-related challenges — all of which continue to test organisational resilience and agility.

Our 2025 findings underscore that long-term success hinges on the ability to convert volatility into strength. This means embedding resilience into corporate culture, embracing proactive regulatory strategies, and harnessing technology with responsibility and foresight.

Forward-thinking organisations are reimagining their operating models to better navigate disruption, positioning themselves to achieve sustained competitive advantage in an increasingly uncertain world.
