Aliko Simon is a Partner at Clyde & Co Tanzania, where he heads the Employment, Real Estate and Immigration Departments. He has over 16 years of legal experience, with expertise in employment and real estate matters. Aliko advises clients on a wide range of legal issues, from analytical research and legal drafting to providing seamless advisory services across various areas of law. 

He holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B, Hons) and a Master of Laws (LL.M) from the University of Dar es Salaam, as well as a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law School of Tanzania. Aliko is an Advocate of the High Court of Tanzania and a member of both the Tanganyika Law Society and the East Africa Law Society.

• Advising Eagle Agrotech Tanzania Limited in relation to the acquisition of land for the development of the sugarcane plantation in Tanzania including the review and amendment of the lease agreement with the Tanzania Investment Centre.
• Advising ZF Devco B.V on various land matters including the revision of the concession agreement with the Tanzania Ports Authority (TPA) for operation of the port terminal and the lease agreement with the TPA for the development of hotels at the waterfront area. 
• Advising Faru Graphite Corporation Limited on various land related matters including drafting various documents for the payment of compensation and resettlement in relation to the acquisition of land for the development of the graphite project in Tanzania.
• Advising Raxio Group on the acquisition of land for building a data centre in Tanzania.

Immigration

• Advising Intertek Testing Services (South Africa) Pty Ltd on immigration matters in connection with hiring foreigners to work in Tanzania.
• Advising American Tower on general Tanzanian law in relation to immigration, setting up an entity, regulatory framework, employment, land and acquisition of assets from Airtel Tanzania.
• Advising Halliburton International Inc. on immigration matters, including developing the Halliburton International Inc. employment manual for Tanzania and in connection with Tanzanian employment, labour law and pensions. 
• Advising Gatsby Africa on immigration issues and employment-related policies in Tanzania.
• Advising Shlumberger Seaco Inc. on Tanzanian laws relating to immigration and employment matters.

Public Private Partnerships

• Advising the World Bank on PPP guidelines.
• Advising the World Bank on PPP diagnostic pipeline. 
• Advising the World Bank on the viability of 4 solid waste management and 4 student hostels proposed PPP projects in various regions around Tanzania.
• Advising the World Bank on general model PPP Documents and sector specific PPP Documents including the Request for Qualification, Request for Proposal and PPP Agreement. The sectors include markets, abattoirs and bus terminals.
• Advising TICTS, Dar es Salaam Port operator in respect of various matters in Tanzania which relate to the port concession/lease in Tanzania.   
• Advising China Africa Development Fund on the 400 MW Kinyerezi IV project in Tanzania, including consents, permits and PPP considerations.
• Advising on the Bagamoyo EcoEnergy Project, of USD 380 million project finance transaction.
